One Life, One Reason – Fundraising Event

Thank you to all who attended RETA’s annual fundraising event. What a fun, successful evening we had. Thank you to those who donated, served and prepared. We raised more funds this year than ever before! Thank you to Doug Moore of WFRN for acting as emcee for the evening. Also thanks to our client, Kari, for sharing her story with our guests.

RETA Christmas Store

RETA is now accepting donations for its annual Christmas Store. Moms and Dads have been attending classes and doing extra homework to earn Mommy Money/Daddy Dollars to spend in our Christmas Store.

We are looking for new toys to be delivered to RETA unwrapped. We would like to see items in the $10-$30 range and be available for children birth to teens. Some ideas include: Hot Wheels tracks, Fisher Price Little People sets, anything with Dora, toddler riding toys, building blocks for babies and toddlers, hygiene kits for guys and girls, Wii games, kitchen and tea sets, etc.

The store will open to clients Dec. 12th. We would like to have donations prior to this, but will accept them through Dec. 15th. Call RETA at 574-522-3888 with questions or to arrange a drop off. Thank you for thinking of RETA, and we hope you all have a blessed and happy Christmas!

Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Dinner

Title: Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Dinner
Location: 112 E. Lexington Ave. – Elkhart, IN
Description: The Knights of Columbus will host an all you-can-eat Spaghetti Dinner with proceeds benefiting RETA. Dinner will be served from 5:00-7:00 pm @ the K.O.C building in downtown Elkhart (112 E. Lexington) on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011. Cost is $4 for children 5-12 yrs. and $7 for adults. You can pre-buy tickets at the RETA office. Call 574-522-3888 for more information or to buy tickets. Dessert will be available for an additional donation.

Marathons for Moms

Are you a Runner? Interested in doing a marathon? How about a half marathon? Join other RETA supporters in Marathons for Moms. This is an ongoing fundraising opportunity to help RETA. You pick the marathon (or 1/2) you want to participate in and gather 100 sponsors to give you $1 per mile and RETA benefits. You can check out the website, www.marathonsformoms.com and get more information on how to particpate and to set up your own page to collect sponsors.

Not a runner? Sponsor someone running for RETA. Our own Joni Bradberry, her husband, Jim, and our summer intern, Sara Mundy are all participating in 1/2 marathons this fall. Forgotten Fathers Concert

Title: Forgotten Fathers Concert
Location: Trinity Lutheran Youth Center – 429 Massechusetts Ave – Elkhart
Description: On Sunday, June 19th, a benefit concert will be hosted by Trinity Lutheran Youth Ministry featuring the band “Philmont”. This concert is FREE, but donations will be accepted, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit RETA’s Men’s ministry. Doors open at 6:15 pm and the concert begins at 7:00 pm. Earn While You Learn

Earn While You Learn is a one on one parenting education program. At each appointment you will meet with a parent coach, do a lesson and earn coupons that can be used in our Family Store. Our curriculum begins in the first trimester and extends to parenting your teenager. There are numerous videos with topics including:

Caring for your child
Budgeting
Health and safety
Discipline
Sibling relationships
Bible studies
and many more.

The Family store is stocked with an assortment of baby and household items as a program incentive and to help meet family needs.
